Checking a Bid Submission for Contradictions Before Filing

A bid for a tender or RFP is usually assembled from several parts: a supply commitment with specific product specifications, company information, attached licenses and declarations, sometimes a separate cost breakdown. - Compare product specifications across different parts of the bid — do the numbers, units, or model match up.
- Check the completeness of the package — cross-check the list of required documents against what's actually been assembled.
- Find internal contradictions between the technical proposal and the draft contract — delivery timelines stated in different places, for instance.
- Merge data from several bid files into one table for a quick visual check before submission.
This is the same fact-extraction-and-comparison principle as working with contracts: the agent reads the documents and shows discrepancies, it doesn't render a judgment on correctness.
A good first check isn't the whole bid at once — it's one specific parameter across every file: "find every mention of the delivery timeline across all the bid documents and show me where the numbers differ." That quickly shows whether the agent is reading the structure of your specific document set correctly.
What the agent doesn't do, and why that matters to know upfront
Compliance with procurement regulations, correctness of the contract price calculation, absence of antitrust issues — that's not something a general-purpose AI agent can check. Procurement rules change regularly, differ by procedure type, and a mistake in that kind of review can cost you the bid or get you disqualified. The final compliance check on a bid needs to be done by a procurement specialist or a lawyer familiar with the current rules and the specific procurement's documentation.
The agent's role here is technical, not legal: catching a numeric discrepancy between files that a person reading them one at a time might miss. It's a step before the legal check, not a replacement for it.
Why locally
A tender bid is often sensitive commercial data: the offer price, delivery terms, product specs a company isn't ready to show before submission — sometimes not even after. Being honest about the limits
Document format matters. Bids are often filed as PDFs, sometimes scanned signed pages. Regular reading works well with text-based PDF and DOCX; a scan without prior OCR can't be read by the agent.
You still have to judge a discrepancy yourself. Not every mismatched wording is an error: "delivery within 10 business days" and "10 business days from signing" might be the exact same condition, just phrased differently in different documents. The agent shows where the text differs; deciding whether that's critical is a human call.
This isn't a check against the procuring entity's requirements. The agent cross-checks the parts of your bid against each other, not your bid against the tender notice or the buyer's technical requirements — for that kind of check, you'd need to attach the notice itself as a source document and explicitly ask for a comparison against it.
